Time to hire a skilled resume writer?

Hi. I'm Jared Redick, owner and writer here at The Resume Studio.com. I work with interesting folks every day, and rarely find a person whose story isn’t compelling. But almost everyone comes to me with trouble packaging their background into a worthwhile resume.

Why?

  • They’re too close to it
  • They're afraid to toot their own horn
  • They've never had to use a resume to break down doors
  • They have employment gaps, or have moved around a lot
  • They've been adding to the same template since college
  • Their business writing skills are rusty
  • They don't know which keywords to use
  • They're having trouble assessing their own achievements
  • They want to change careers or shift focus
  • They aren’t up to date on the latest resume formats and techniques
  • They don’t know how to spin a resume to feature their best assets and mask problems

Sometimes new clients are embarrassed to show me an existing resume. My response? If you’re embarrassed to show me, why ever would you toss it out into the great big job search world.

Like my colleagues in The National Resume Writers’ Association, I enjoy helping people write great resumes. I constantly read about how to improve them. I stay up with the latest trends. I study the subtle formatting differences between industries and job levels. I know the psychology behind when to draw a line, bold or italicize text, or create white space to direct the eye. I keep at least two business writing books in my reading queue
– and a writing desk reference nearby at all times.

I've developed a specialization in mid-career cleanup and course correction, and have helped quite a few people do just that. I dig deep to skillfully repackage, face truth, and breathe new life into outdated documents.

Over the years, I have been privileged to work in New York and San Francisco with some of the smartest people in the search business. Through my own job searches, professional development, and 10+ years of helping others, I have developed simple, effective, fact-based methods that work. I share all of this with my clients, who regularly show their gratitude with referrals, which comprise about ninety percent of my
new business.

If you are in the midst of a job search, about to embark on one, looking to dust off your existing résumé, or in need of a serious overhaul, let's chat
. You will find me to be candid, encouraging, inquiring, tireless, and sometimes even fun on a project that most people find pretty dull.

Ninety eight percent of my clients report back success getting interviews. Perhaps I can help you, too. Inquiry form.

Sincerely,

Jared Redick
